I couldn't get on to this site last night to say thank you for caring, with me.
Sadly my beautiful Max did last through the night, but he was in no pain and very peaceful. We just sat together through the night, until it was time for the vet, who assessed him and after a very short discussion, did what was necessary with no fuss. Max was a true gentleman to the end, and has left a big hole in my heart where he has been for so long.

Max will be a big miss, Lylie, but he won`t have any pain now, and you stayed with him to the end.

Take care,

You and your family are still in my thoughts and prayers Lylie.

Just wondering if Andrew heard anything about his job application?

Hi there, I'm still around, really niggled by all the recent events but hey, that's life.

Thanks Diane, ...................poor Andrew is STILL desperate for a job, any job, but all the industry locally is skilled....and that he isn't! He's still hopeful that Aldi will turn up trumps, but no news yet; bless him, I think every small factory.... and a few bigger ones...now has a copy of his CV, at least they can't say he isn't trying when he goes to sign on; he's getting very frightened and worried about not working, as his lovely partner IS working (part-time) and is supporting them both.

update on Colin: had three radiotherapy sessions and that MAY be enough, more next week.

I have just finished a week of loading dose of new cocktail, very unpleasant stuff which "burns" as it goes in (its one from a bloke in Peru so probably marmalade and llama poo???).................and starting again this week, alternate days so far as I know, hope they have diluted the stuff with something (I suggested brandy but no-one looked very likely to take me up on on that idea!!)

Helen and family have gone to France for a fortnight, following the sun .................she is getting so much worse so they cancelled ambitious plans to holiday far away, as she is so unsteady and tires very easily....and may need emergency care as breathing and swallowing are becoming a problem.

Love to all, Lxx

hi Lylie,

Poor Andrew, it is just hopeless the job situation at the moment but his persistance will pay off eventually, I'm sure. Just hope I'm right and he gets something soon.

Good to hear that Colin may have finished the radiotherapy.
As for you, it's just relentless isn't it? You know what they say though Lylie....go for the burn! Oh sorry, that's exercise but lets hope it works just as well with chemo.

I can't believe how brave Helen is ,to be going abroad on holiday. I hope it turns out that she doesn't need emergency care and can have a lovely relaxing holiday with her husband and son.

Praying for all of you Lylie, you really have been dealt a poor hand lately, it's time the tables turned and good things started to happen for a change.

Lots of love and hugs, Doreen xx

do they serve it in those ladies bowler hats and do you have to sit on the aztec woven rug while having it?

Hi Lylie,

I'm sorry Andrew has had no luck as yet. Job vacancies seem to be very scarce in the current economic climate. I hope something suitable turns up soon.
I'm glad that Colin has hopefully finished his radiotherapy.
I'm so sorry that Helen's condition is worsening. What a remarkable, special lady she is, to go on holiday with how she must be feeling. I hope she and her family have a special time and she does not require any emergency treatment while they're away.
That cocktail of yours sounds nasty...I hope you find it more tolerable this week and pray that it does the job.

Life has been very unfair to you lately Lylie and it really is time for some good luck to come your way. Hopefully the thoughts, prayers, love and positive vibes that all your friends are surrounding you with, will help. I am in awe that throughout all what's happening you still come on here offering support to others. Thankyou.

take care and God bless
much love

NO no no, Jenni..................

I sit on a llama, dashing about up and down the hills, ( the District nurses have a hell of a job keeping upi!!!)..wearing a rather fetching brightly coloured woven blanket thing and shouting "up the Andes!!!!" (or words to that effect!!) as I puff madly on my pipefull of dung...............the bowler hat is a Peruvian substitute for well.....um....er......less pleasant things ( you know .......them things wot live under the bed and come out in emergencies!!!!)

At least we can have a laugh, can't we........................just PICTURE the llama, me on top, those hills, wheezing nurses...........................hmmm, ......DON'T picture the under-bed bit!!!!!! Lxx

Dear Lylie,

You truly are an inspiration - I really hope the llama poo will help you, we don`t want you having to be upgraded to elephant poo, do we?

I hope Andrew finds something - work is so difficult to find in the current climate, and he must find it hard to send in all these applications and wait for something to turn up.

I hope Colin won`t need any more radiotherapy, and he can get on with his life again.

And your beautiful, brave daughter! I just hope and pray that the sun stays bright for them in France; that Helen doesn`t need any emergency treatment;, and that they all have a truly special holiday, making some special memories.

It is surely time that things took a turn for the better for you, Lylie - I keep you all in my prayers, and I feel priviledged to have "met" you.

Take care,

Kathleen x
